Boot Camp on 21st Feb at Deep Griha Society

Michelle Marteleira and Kathleen Caulderwood spoke about the WUP University of Pune Chapter they formed after attending the 10 Jan Boot Camp and the recent boot camp they conducted at their university.  Indrijit Deshmukh from our partner aarogya.com spoke about fundraising.  "Major Tom", our new mannequin outreach tool, was introduced and it was demonstrated, albeit humorously, just how easy it is to spread the BE HIV POSITIVE message.  Evaluations filled out by the participants were very positive.  100% of the participants stated that they knew "a lot" about HIV at the end of the Boot Camp and 100% said they felt comfortable talking about HIV and AIDS at the end of the Boot Camp.  In keeping with our new policy of putting everything to do with WUP online, the summary of the 21 Feb HIV Boot Camp Feedback/Evaluation forms is located at:

The presenters, as always, were much more critical of themselves; however, there was consensus that the content presented at Boot Camps should be kept as simple as possible and as interactive as possible.  This bootcamp also marked the first time for a female condom demonstration thanks to Emma Collingbourne.  Very informational and interesting, indeed.  Special thanks to everyone on the team who worked hard (and spent their Sunday) to make this Boot Camp a success:  Nityanand, Emeline, Dan, Ninad, Emma, Shirish, Ashwin, Anshuman, Abbas, Michelle, Kathleen and all those who helped at Deep Griha Society.

After the Boot Camp, many of us went to the German Bakery and placed 4 bouquets of flowers in front of what remains of one of our favorite meeting spots in memory of those who lost their lives and were injured in the 13th Feb 2010 bomb blast.
