HIV Bootcamp at Aasra

On Friday 4th November, Wake Up Pune volunteers conducted an HIV/AIDS bootcamp at Aasra: a vocational, therapeutic rehabilitation center which supports people with addiction/alcoholism. 29 people attended and discussed HIV biology, transmission, prevention, statistics and stigma. The residents had some interesting questions, for example ‘Will sterilising needles after use prevent the transmission of HIV?’ Amit, a local WUP volunteer, provided some excellent translation from English to Hindi.
